![]() ![]() I just wanted to know what should be the right price for this kind of body and if anyone bought something with such high count. I can afford a shutter failure and I wouldn't honestly mind if it breaks randomly. The shutter replacement comes out to be $450 as you said. I don't really need 45mp, but D850 is such a stellar camera not just because of all the pixels, so I was interested. I am ok with any camera around $900-950 or less (D810) but since this popped up, my curiosity piqued. Thanks, I was looking at a particular figure like you mentioned. It has apparently spent the life in studio, so it seems to be in good shape but I am not sure. If the previous owner got this camera the first day it was available (8 September 2017 according to Wikipedia), then it would have to have shot ~535 shots per workday since then to get to 320K shutter count. But if beat up, then pass.Īlso, can you afford a shutter failure? Can you afford to have the shutter die at a bad time? Say before/during an important trip or a paid gig? Like others said, if it doesn't show like it has 300k on the clock and you need 45mp camera then go for it. I would keep shopping unless you can get it for $900 or less. I bought a used D850 with 4K shutter clicks in Nov for $1,900. In a studio on a tripod all the time and it wouldn't bother me as much but if used in the field and beat on no thanks. It could be falling apart or in decent to OK or better. That is a high shutter count but also consider the life that camera has lived. Just want a good ol' DSLR!įactor in the cost of shutter replacement, (and the hassle of doing so), you'll have your answer. I was looking at D810 or even D750 but this caught my eye. For all you know the camera will still be good for another 320k clicks or it'll break after 1k clicks! ![]() Just make sure it's a USA model for repair purposes. It still works flawlessly but its making me twitchy.Ĭall it bad luck but in my experience, things go wrong just when they change owners.Īnyone here who bought D850 with such high shutter actuations and then had to go through shutter replacement.and what would be a good price point for such body?(and also for shutter replacement?)ĭepends how much it's selling for? If the price + the possibility of paying for a shutter replacement is still cheaper than buying minty used, I'd consider it. Looking at one with shutter count of close to 320000. ![]()
